Seasons Of Hope

I found Seasons of Hope to be very beneficial. I particularly liked that the program was very structured with a different focus each week. Somehow being able to talk about my loss and express my feelings in an environment where others were patient and understanding was calming and therapeutic. Losing a loved one is not something we will ever "get over" but learning to live with the sadness is something we must do.  

Seasons of hope proved to be a safe, welcoming and caring place to share the grief that belongs to a profound loss.  i will always remember the room we met in, the stained glass, our seating arrangement, the snack table and the overall atmosphere of love and kindness that greeted each of us at every meeting.  there were tears and sadness, of course, but sharing our feelings and stories with the gentle guidance of the facilitators was such a comfort.  and we listened...really listened to each other!  it was so apparent that everyone in our gathering cared about what was being said and about who was saying it. a nod, a smile, a touch of the hand or a passed Kleenex were examples of our shared concern and understanding.  it felt really good to be able to share a bit of advice and/or sympathy on occasion, as well.  and...there was real joy for me in getting to talk about my mother and to share a picture of her with the group.  

When I started with the group, I didn’t know what to expect. With the loss of my husband, I was very emotional and apprehensive about everything. I didn’t think that I would stay through the end of the program.
