Seasons of Hope: Grief Support begins Sunday Sept. 24th, 2023 What is it? Seasons of Hope is a 6-week facilitated faith-based support group for those grieving the loss of a loved one. Each week we explore an aspect of grieving by encountering Jesus through scripture passages, reflection, prayer and small group sharing. The support of those who know what you are going through is one of God’s many gifts of love.
In effort to address a pervasive issue that transcends boundaries, the Mental Health Ministry at St. Julie Billiart and Padre Serra Parish have joined forces to present a crucial event: "Addiction: What It Is and How to Help." Scheduled for Saturday, September 16, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Serra Center, this informative series of talks aims to shed light on addiction, its far-reaching impact, and the imperative need for awareness and support.
Deacon Dave asked that we go home and pray the Magnificat during his homily at the 6:30pm at the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. So a quick invitation to all to pray together this evening.
As the death toll from the devastating wildfires on the island of Maui, Hawaii continues to climb, officials have confirmed that this to be the deadliest disaster in the state's history. We are reaching out to our Archdiocesan parishes and communities to join together to offer prayer and financial support for all whose lives are being touched by this devastation.
Saint Julie's Pantry is in urgent need of the following items, cereal, syrup, premium soup, Rice A Roni, oatmeal (flavored packets), diapers (size 5, 6), and baby wipes. Your donations truly make a difference!
Several weeks ago, Fr Ian mentioned we would start distribution of the Precious Blood at Holy Communion on the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) on the weekend of 10-11 June. Since that time, we have been asking for people to volunteer to be Eucharistic Ministers in the bulletin and website. We still need volunteers for all Masses to distribute the both the host and the cup.

You may have seen that the LA Dodgers honored the so-called Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (SPI), which mock religious sisters, Jesus, and our Catholic faith. The California bishops condemned this action in a statement, but now, a State Senator has invited SPI to be honored on the floor of the California State Capitol on Monday, June 5th.

All are welcome to join us for afternoon of praise and teaching about the Holy Spirit in our lives and the gifts He showers upon us. The St Julie’s Charismatic Prayer Group meets each month to praise our God in word and song and thank him for many blessings. We seek the blessings of the Holy Spirit on our group, our parish, and all. On Pentecost Sunday, May 28, 2023, we are inviting all to join us at 1 to 3 pm in the parish hall to learn more about the many gifts of the Holy Spirit. We will praise and discuss the Holy Spirit involvement in our lives as we celebrate Pentecost. This year’s St. Julie’s Parish Mexico Mission trip is from April 10 through April 15, 2023 Deacon Dave and our missionaries are asking for your prayers and any help you can give to make this mission trip a wonderful learning and life-changing experience for our youth and adult chaperones.
