As many bask in the comforting embrace of a "normal" life once again, we must remember that several members of our community, stretching across Newbury Park, CA, and its neighboring cities, still face financial hardships, grappling daily with the difficulty of affording food and other basic necessities.
Our pantry has become a lifeline for many, offering sustenance and hope during these trying times. The testimonials from our visitors resoundingly echo the sentiment that they could not get by without us. We know that our efforts are fueled by the unwavering support and generosity of our devoted parishioners.
We cannot express enough how much we appreciate the weekly donations that pour in from many kind-hearted individuals. Your relentless support enables us to continue being a beacon of light in our community. However, we find ourselves at a juncture where our stocks are dwindling, and several items are noticeably absent, items we haven't been able to source from Food Share or other providers.
Therefore, we are reaching out not only to our steadfast parishioners but also to the broader communities of Newbury Park and the surrounding areas. We are thrilled to announce a community-wide Food Drive on the weekend of September 23 5:30pm - 6:30pm and 24 8:30am -12:30 pm. We urge you to stand with us during this crucial time by contributing non-perishable food items that will help us replenish our pantry shelves.
This community effort kicks off after all five Masses scheduled over the weekend. We've organized a seamless drive-through donation setup at the gate outside the patio/children's play yard. Our dedicated Vincnetian and St. Julie's volunteers will be present to assist you in dropping off your contributions. Simply drive up to the designated area after Mass, and our team will be there to help.
We firmly believe that, united, we can surmount this challenge and continue to be a pillar of support for those in need in Newbury Park and beyond. Your generosity and kindness not only fill our shelves but also fill the hearts of those we serve with hope and gratitude.
Thank you, in advance, for your compassion and active participation in this significant event. Together, we can foster a community where no one has to face hunger alone.
Most needed Items: Canned chicken
