Hello, my name is Ian Perez and I’m very honored to join the St. Julie Billiart parish community. As the Youth and Confirmation Coordinator, I look forward to guiding our young people in fostering a greater understanding of their self-worth, and that sainthood is so attainable now at their age!
Prior to having my two beautiful daughters, I discerned becoming a priest and entered seminary at the age of 20. I attended Mt. Angel Seminary in Oregon for four years and transferred to St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo for another two.
Though I didn’t become a priest, I valued the formation, education, and many great healthy relationships I recieved. I’m a great advocate of vocations to the priesthood and religious life, especially in taking that leap of faith regardless of the outcome!
I grew up in Bakersfield, Ca where I was an active sports player of football, baseball, and soccer. I love watching college football, running marathons, and mountain biking.
I’ve learned so much about myself and God through those hills and valleys that we all go through.
I hope to share more with you about myself in this coming faith formation year. I will be continuing to pray for your children in the program, who I am so excited to meet!
