Phase I of the Legacy Project amazed St. Julie’s parishioners in 2012. Gone were the squared-off entryways, the humming light fixtures, and the cranberry carpet. In their place were arched columns, wrought-iron candelabras, and floor tiles with indigo accents. A formerly utilitarian sanctuary now resembled a California mission.
Phase II of the Legacy Project will do for the exterior what Phase I did for the interior. A large outdoor gathering place, an area for children, as well as new paint, new stucco, and a new roof, will announce that St. Julie’s is a spiritual home to Newbury Park
Catholics. Beauty makes it easier to pray. Renovating the church’s outside will reflect faith on the inside.
