Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Today’s horrific tragedy reminds us again of just how fragile life is. This senseless, selfish violence continues to perpetuate in our country. I cannot even imagine the pain and shock these children’s families must endure tonight and for the rest of their lives. Each Sunday, we pray for peace and transformation of all hearts and will continue to do so. Evil has no power over what we are called to do.
I invite and encourage everyone to come to the church tomorrow and sit in the Presence of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and pray for these families and all victims of violence committed these last 30 days.
Parents, I imagine there are hard talks happening in your homes tonight and fear for your own children. Please know that the church will be open tomorrow until 6:00 pm to give parents a chance to stop by and pray in the Presence of Our Lord. I have seen miracles happen in my short time here at St. Julie’s, when we come together as a community.
All are invited to share in grief and prayers of hope tomorrow, Wednesday, May 25, 2022. We will have 8:00am Mass and follow with Exposition of The Blessed Sacrament until 6:00pm.
Let us not become immune and numb to evil and hate. The Mission of Christ never pauses to evil.
in Christ -
Fr. Ian
