My name is Sandy and I am your Confirmation coordinator and Youth Minister. I am so excited to walk alongside you all in our confirmation program this year! Before landing at St. Julie's, my little (bare)feet have carried me to many places in pursuit of Jesus's heart and a dang good latte! Some of the aforementioned being Oregon, San Diego, and Colorado as a FOCUS missionary. Having been a missionary as well as coming from a Mexican-American family, St. John Paul II and Our Lady are basically my two #BestiesForTheResties.
This past confirmation year was a time of great learning with you all and I could not be more grateful for the life that shines through this parish community and I have so many hopes for our confirmation program this year. I truly desire for this program to be a way in which the whole family can come to know Jesus, the extravagant love he has for us, and the Church He appointed to carry us through this one wildly beautiful life.
While we often see confirmation as an item on our "catholic checklist", I pray and hope every day that together we come to see that each sacrament is truly a step towards eternity.
Growing in our Christian faith is a life-long journey. The process of preparing for Confirmation is based on the belief that adolescents are at a significant point in their lives where they are establishing their faith identity. It's a time where they go beyond their life as a child and begin to share and grow in their faith through and with others.
Through the Sacrament of Confirmation, we receive a special grace and power from the Holy Spirit and we are fully initiated in the Catholic Church.
The Confirmation preparation process is a source of renewal for the whole parish community. It involves not only the candidate but the parents, sponsor, Ministry Coordinators, the peer ministry team, and of course, our parish priest.
In this program you can look forward to:
