The Bereavement Ministry uses a collaborative approach toward giving support to our community. The below areas identify what this and other ministries provide, contact points and additional sources of information.
Our Funeral Planning and Support representatives help with the preparation of your loved one’s funeral Mass or memorial service at St. Julie’s. A planner will contact, meet with, and guide you in making selections and other decisions. This includes choosing scripture, prayer readings, and other related choices. The planner is available to help you throughout the preparation, will coordinate with parish clergy and other participants, and assist on the day of the service.

The Helping Hands Ministry offers to plan, coordinate, and host a Celebration of Life reception for your loved one’s service. The Ministry provides monthly care notes of encouragement and prayers, in addition to other acts of support and comfort.

Sally Kutcher at (805) 498-7377The Bereavement Ministry offers Seasons of Hope, a nationally recognized Catholic-based bereavement program. Seasons of Hope provides the bereaved an opportunity to come together and share in God's love. Sessions help explore mourning through scripture, prayers, reflection activities, and faith sharing.
The program was developed M. Donna Macleod following the death of her daughter. She is a nationally recognized hospice and bereavement specialist and parishes across the nation have adopted the program.
Each Seasons of Hope program consists of 6 two-hour sessions.

The death of a loved one frequently leads to life transitions and trials. In addition to dealing with grief, such experiences include loneliness, financial adjustments, spiritual crisis, and others. Our Stephen Ministers provide confidential one-to-one care to those dealing with these and/or other life events.
